Gum & Gummer

Gary Gummie and Gilbert Gummie, or “Gum and Gummer” as the couch residents eventually nicknamed them, began life in a bag of gummy bears during a particularly hot summer day.

Unfortunately, the brothers spent a little too much time pressed against one another. By the time the bag was opened, they had melted into a single sticky gummy mass. One afternoon, while one of the boys was watching cartoons and shoveling snacks into his mouth, he attempted to eat both bears at once. After a brief coughing fit and an impressive launch across the living room, Gum and Gummer disappeared into the dark depths of the couch.

Life beneath the cushions was frightening at first, but Bow Ness quickly welcomed the terrified pair. Using her trusty bobby pin, of course, she carefully separated the brothers and introduced them to the strange community of forgotten objects living below. Gum and Gummer soon became two of the couch’s most popular residents. Their easygoing personalities allowed them to get along with just about everyone they met, and they eventually came to view Ms. Elanias Stickiwicki as a second mother. Like most gummy bears, the brothers constantly collected lint, much of which Elanias happily harvested for her knitting projects.

When the couch was scheduled for donation, the brothers joined Sarge’s evacuation team and escaped alongside their friends. After settling in Nutshella, they met Tanya and Taylor Taffy, identical twin sisters who were every bit as sticky as they were. The couples instantly bonded and were married during a double wedding ceremony officiated by none other than Sarge himself.

After marriage, the couples launched Y Didn’t U Wear Gloves? Cotton Candy Co. in Nutshella. Its popularity grew quickly and eventually expanded across the globe. Today, the company is a household name and remains one of the leading causes of sticky fingers worldwide.

To this day, Gum and Gummer remain inseparable.

Fortunately, now it’s by choice.
